From Students to Students: Insider Stories about Living in a Student Accommodation in Budapest

19/07/2023

Living in a student accommodation in Budapest can be both exciting and daunting. With so much to explore and experience, it can be hard to know where to begin. Our student residents have experienced the highs and lows of life by moving to a student dormitory in Budapest, and we asked them to share their personal stories.

At Dean's student housing, we understand the importance of comfortable and convenient student accommodation. This is why we made a short interview with three students - Gabriel, Martina and Isra - to give you an insider's perspective on what it's like to live in our international private dormitory. Let's dive into their stories and learn the best practices as a student moving to Budapest. Let’s see our questions and their answers.

What were your initial challenges when you moved into your student accommodation?

“First, I moved to a Hungarian dormitory where most of the locals go. It was difficult for me to clean the space when I first arrived. The room I was assigned was in a poor condition, with old-fashioned, broken furniture and dirt everywhere. I guess it's OK for some people but I like to feel at home even in a dorm. I don’t have a desire to live in luxury but in a comfy, modern and clean place I do.  After a few days I decided to book a room at Dean's student accommodation, and to my relief, everything was fine. The cleanliness and maintenance provided by the staff made my transition much smoother.” - Gabriel, France

“I was initially concerned about having to furnish my room entirely by myself. But, to my surprise, the welcome pack provided by Dean's student accommodation was really good. It contained all the essential items I needed, saving me the hassle of shopping for them. Plus, with so many exciting activities and amenities both in the dormitory and the city, I rarely found myself spending much time in my room!” - Martina, Spain

“For me, the biggest challenge was feeling at home in a new country. However, the vibrant and international student community at Dean's made a significant difference. The sense of togetherness created by the community was incredible. We study together, chill out on the rooftop, go to each other's for movie nights, and even walk to the university together. The evenings often end with intense matches in the game zone, which further strengthen the bond among us." - Isra, Turkey

Now, you all have been living at Dean’s student housing for several months. Tell us honestly.

What is your favorite thing about our student accommodation in Budapest?

"Oh, hands down, my favorite thing about Dean's has to be the game zone. As a gaming enthusiast, having a dedicated space to relax and play billiards and foosball was a dream come true. It's the perfect place to unwind after a long day of studying and bond with other students who share the same passion for gaming." - Gabriel, France

"For me, the best part is the proximity to beautiful sights and hidden spots in Budapest. As an avid photographer, I couldn't have asked for a better location. I can simply step out of my  student accommodation, and within a short walk, I find myself surrounded by stunning architecture, picturesque parks, and charming cafes. These places provide the perfect backdrop for my photography, allowing me to capture unique and memorable shots. Dean's student housing truly offers the best of both worlds - a comfortable living space and easy access to captivating photo opportunities." - Martina, Spain

"What can I say? A student accommodation with a rooftop terrace is priceless. It's an oasis of tranquility amidst the bustling city. The breathtaking panoramic views of Budapest from the rooftop never fail to mesmerize me. Whether I want to relax with a book, have a study session with friends, or simply enjoy the fresh air, the rooftop terrace provides the perfect setting. It's also a fantastic place to gather with fellow students for social events and enjoy stunning sunsets. The rooftop terrace has become my go-to spot for finding peace and serenity amidst the vibrant energy of Budapest." - Isra, Turkey
