A successful charity bake sale at Dean’s student accommodation: supporting mental health awareness

16/10/2024

At Dean’s student accommodation, we take pride in creating a supportive environment for our international students and fostering a sense of community through meaningful events. Recently, our student accommodation partnered with the International Semmelweis Student Association (ISSA) to host a charity bake sale focused on promoting mental health awareness.

The entire atmosphere around Dean’s student accommodation was filled with the irresistible aroma of chocolate cakes, brownies, and other delicious baked goods. It was impossible to pass by without being tempted by these treats! ISSA’s dedicated students baked and presented an incredible variety of sweets, including pancakes served with Nutella that no one could hold against.

Every penny collected from the sale was donated to support the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP), an organization that does essential work in raising awareness and providing resources for mental health support and suicide prevention. This collaboration is a testament to our student accommodation residents’ enthusiasm for contributing to meaningful causes.

A student accommodation supporting mental health awareness

Dean’s student accommodation is home to hundreds of international students who choose our rooms for the welcoming environment and strong sense of community. Being in a new country, feeling the pressure, and missing family can make mental health particularly important. This event brought together students from various countries, united by their desire to support a cause that truly matters. Seeing our residents come together to promote mental health awareness reinforces our mission to create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment for all.

Our student dormitory’s amenities supporting student well-being

At Dean’s student accommodation, we understand that mental health is a critical aspect of student life, especially for those living far from home. As part of our ongoing commitment to student well-being, we provide a range of amenities that help our student dormitory residents stay balanced and connected, such as a dedicated chill-out game zone, an in-house gym, a rooftop terrace with a 360-view of Budapest’s skyline and a variety of international student social events throughout the year, like VIP student parties for our residents, or DIY workshops.

The charity bake sale was yet another opportunity for us to promote mental health awareness at our student dormitory, supporting a great cause, and show our student accommodation residents that they are part of a caring and engaged community. We extend our sincere thanks to the International Semmelweis Student Association for organizing this event and to all the students who supported it. Your efforts will have a lasting impact and will help IASP continue their invaluable work.

A student accommodation in service of charity

At Dean’s student accommodation, we believe in more than just providing a place to live; we are committed to setting an example through action. Each semester, we actively involve our students in charity events, giving them the opportunity to contribute to meaningful causes. Our latest initiative focused on supporting mental health awareness, bringing together students from diverse backgrounds to make a difference. By engaging in these charitable efforts, we aim to foster a supportive and compassionate community that values giving back. Join us in building a better world, one step at a time.
